New Year's Day at the Poetry Project

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the annual fundraiser on New Year's Day at the Poetry Project this year. This is always a favorite event of mine. The day offers so much from the range of performances--music, poetry, dance, etc.--and from the range of performers--beginners, professionals, young, old, somewhere in between, and so on. (I'll never forget hearing Philip Glass the first year I attended.) Besides the performances, it's worth making it out there for the book sale alone. It's an opportunity to stock up on reading material at a discounted price, and it is good to know that the money you spend will go to support the Poetry Project.

I am writing about this now because it is an excellent time to donate books to the cause. The Poetry Project is currently accepting book donations, and this is a great opportunity to promote your book or your press. So if you have books available to donate, you can send 2 - 5 copies to The Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church, 131 E. 10th Street, New York, NY 10003.
