Recent Reviews

A lot of things I wrote months ago are hitting the internet this week. First it was my "Song of the Week," and now my review of Susan Briante's Utopia Minus is now up at Coldfront Magazine. And I have another book review scheduled for publication elsewhere on Friday, and possibly a music review too. With a week like this it looks like I've been a lot busier than I've actually been!

Song of the Week

"Song of the Week" is a weekly feature at Coldfront Magazine that asks poets to write about a song in 150 words or less. My contribution, "Pulaski, Tennessee" by the Drive-By Truckers, is now up.

My 2011 Attention Span list is also up.

Readings

Last night's Loose Change Magazine Rooftop Reading was great. It was a fun setting and all of the readers were wonderful. It's always a bonus to be exposed to excellent work by writers I had previously been unaware of. I took some pictures on my phone, but it was dark so they didn't really turn out. I may upload them later anyhow. I'm reading again in a couple of weeks at the next Vouched Atlanta event. The flyer is above.

Loose Change Rooftop Reading this Thursday!

I'm going to be joining a number of local Atlanta writers for a reading this Thursday. Here are the details from the Facebook page:

Loose Change will be hosting its next Rooftop Reading on October 20. Be ready to climb some ladders, watch a fall sun set, and hear from the likes of Matt DeBenedictis, James Nichols, Laura Straub, Gina Myers, and P.I. Navarro.

Bring your favorite beverage! Your favorite dinner/snacks! Your favorite blanket and get ready to cozy up to some good local lit! Also, bring a flashlight. And maybe even a back pack to carry all that stuff in (one handed ladder climbing = hard). Please note: This event does not have wheelchair access.

A new review of A Model Year

The wonderful Becca Klaver reviewed A Model Year at Open Letters Monthly. I am honored that she spent time with the book and wrote such a thoughtful review. Thanks, Becca! You can read the review here.
